Mandrágora is peaceful, introspective and kind. Light like a horse, smart like an octopus, semi-human, gender-neutral.
It started as a personal project, I wanted to make an alebrije using paper clay instead of cardboard and glue, the traditional technique, in order to achieve a new level of expressiveness, detail and give life and movement to my sculptures. It was a whole new mind process and the results were breathtaking.
Mandrágora is part of a private art collection in Washington state.
